The ugly face of democracy and freedom of expression has been exposed

The government blocked Hizb ut-Tahrir Wilaya Pakistan’s website that exposed government’s treachery

We condemn the government for blocking of Hizb ut-Tahrir wilayah Pakistan’s website. The Ummah has understood the reality of these rulers who have been trumpeting the corrupt and hollow slogans of democracy and freedom of expression. Hizb had launched its website, www.hizb-pakistan.org , merely four months ago and the government moved swiftly to block this intellectual and political website. By this act the government has also revealed its intellectual bankruptcy. Instead of countering Hizb’s political thought, which is built on Islam, with a better thought of its own the government has resorted to oppression and sensor. On the contrary, propaganda sites of enemy countries such as the US, UK and India which are pumping kufr in society are operating with complete immunity. The irony is that in a so-called Islamic Republic of Pakistan obscene and morally corrupt sites are not banned but an Islamic site providing an alternative to the capitalist system is blocked. Hizb’s site in a small period of 4 months became so popular that it was attracting thousands of visitors who were quenching their thirst for Islamic culture. In the past the government has banned our other sites but failed to stop the flow of Islamic information to the public and she will fail this time as well.

The Ummah is crystal clear that the current rulers are fighting Islam and the Muslims and all the resources and might of the state is being used solely for the interest of the colonialists. The Ummah has also realised that ‘democracy’ and ‘feedom of expression’ are nothing but just a fraud. Furthermore, these rulers propagate kufr ideas and immorality under the guise of ‘freedom of expression’ and when it comes to Islamic thoughts and politics this democracy and freedom of expression seems to disappear. We have already seen one such terrible example in French public schools where headscarf has been forcibly removed from young Muslim girls. These are the same “Basic Human Rights” which tend to evaporate in Guantanamo Bay prisons; they become mute on the inhumane and shameless torture of Pakistani scientist Dr. Aafiya Siddiqui at Bagram Base and are completely blind at the senseless and brutal killing of young girls of Jamia Hafsa. The Ummah is absolutely clear that the Western civilization is a wolf in lambs hide – rather a vulture! Moreover, this Western civilization is at war with Islamic civilization on all fronts and attempts to crush any sincere struggle for Islamic revival in the Ummah. Banning Hizb ut-Tahrir in the Muslims world, putting thousands of its members behind bars and blocking its websites etc are just few steps taken by the west in the ongoing clash of civilizations. We would like to remind these rulers and their masters that as they failed to stop Hizb’s thought from spreading in the Ummah for the last 50 years by putting various ristrictions and bans, similarly their act of blocking Hizb’s website will also go in vain.
