Wednesday, 25 February 2009 – A high level delegation from Hizb ut-Tahrir today attended the offices and presented its demands to the Pakistan High Commission in London.
Delegates included Qasim Ali, from Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain’s Executive Committee and Asif Salahuddin, a senior member of Hizb ut-Tahrir.
Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain demanded an explanation from the Pakistani government regarding the disclosure by US Senator Dianne Feinstein, head of the US Senate Intelligence Committee, that the drones that frequently attack Pakistan were being flown from bases in Pakistan, provided by the Pakistani government.

London UK, 13 February 2009 – US senator Dianne Feinstein, chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, today commented on the Pakistani government’s apparent opposition to the ongoing American airstrikes by Predator drones in Pakistan saying, “As I understand it, these are flown out of a Pakistani base.” Former U.S. intelligence officials confirmed that Feinstein’s account is accurate.

In a letter to Pakistan’s Ambassador in London, Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain wrote: “This civilian government, that regularly contrasts its democratic credentials with Musharraf’s military dictatorship is imitating the old regime, flagrantly working against the interests of its own people by aiding a belligerent aggressor that is responsible for a conflict that has displaced 700,000 innocent civilians and has made thousands shaheed.”

On 7 November, American military aircraft once again violated Pakistani airspace to launch another missile attack on civilian targets in northern Pakistan.
